Cotton Candy Cosmo as Performance Art

Cotton Candy Cosmo as Performance Art #Cocktails #barcart #entertainingI was asked to review a new book by Bethany Frankel.

Skinnygirl Cocktails: 100 Fun & Flirty Guilt-Free Recipes

Of course I said ‘yes!’ The day the book came I poured over the pages, looking for the prettiest drink I could find to try.

And there it was, on page 123: The Cotton Candy Cosmo!

I enthusiastically gathered all ingredients and gave it a try. I wanted it to look like the photo in the book! I even added a little style of my own with cherry lollies and gold straws. I thought it would be fun to present the cotton candy in a pretty pink candy cup to make it even more festive.

First, I added 1 1/2 ounces of vodka

Then 1/2 ounce of Chambord (or you could use any red or pink liquor)

Then one ounce of pomegranate juice (and a little soda if you’d like)

But who knew…cotton candy sinks faster in a cocktail than the titanic in the ocean (which makes sense the more I think about it). No worries, go with what you’ve got. So I tried it again pouring the drink OVER the cotton candy. I may not have a beautiful pink puffy fluff on top of my drink like in the photo, but it’s sort of fun to watch it dissolve if you put it in the glass before the drink. I call it performance art! See for yourself:

It tastes great – not too sweet and just a little tart.

Best of all, it’s an easy drink to prepare on my new bar cart from HomeGoods!

Fun and flirty? You bet!
