Because Life is Good, and together, we can each #GROWtheGood!
I live in an amazing town. And it’s not that I’m biased, I’ve only lived here three years. There is a Halloween tradition here in Newtown – Main Street Trick or Treat. It’s huge! There is one house that always had a ton of illuminated pumpkins – and there’s a reason why. Because someone cares.
That someone is Meredith Page, a student who started this fund-raiser in 8th grade as a way to raise funds for a family friend diagnosed with brain cancer. Now, as a senior at Newtown High School, her event, the Great Pumpkin Challenge, has grown!
She now has sponsorship from the incredible Life is Good company and Edible Arrangements. They have come together to raise money for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp that works with seriously ill children. This year they have raised over $21,000!
The community is invited to bring carved pumpkins to display on her front lawn during Main Street Trick or Treat, and suggests a $5 donation for each pumpkin.
Pumpkins are arranged on scaffolding.
Here’s her big brother juggling a few entries!
Actress Bridget Moynahan (who serves on the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp board) and John, co-founder of the Life is Good company are perfect partners for Meredith’s campaign.
Edible Arrangements also found a way to help!
As pumpkins keep rolling in, it’s inspiring to see what one person can do to start a movement. Each of us is one person, right? Why not start something good and watch it grow? We can all #GROWtheGood wherever we are. Speaking of good, check out these creative pumpkins!
If you’re inspired by what Meredith has accomplished, you can donate a virtual pumpkin and further the cause for the Hole in the Wall Gang camp! Just click here and make it happen!
