I LOVE this pear wall hanging. Fresh, warm, inviting. I did NOT feel that way about my office, however.
So I matched the paint with some pesto green.
And decided to upcycle the dreary old cabinet in my office.
I bought this old piece 20 years ago from an office for $25 I painted it a cream color. Now it seems just too dull.
We pulled out the drawers and had some fun with color.
Then we picked up some pulls to tie in with the chrome strip along the top of the piece. The jewelry. After drilling the holes, we screwed on the new hardware.
Tip: if you have a lot of pulls to drill, make a template using a paint stirrer first.
I love the clean lines of the pulls.
I’m so happy with the finished room. This summer (when it’s warm outside) I plan to paint the file cabinets. Any color suggestions?
Now here is a fun space to work! And I love the recycled magazine baskets to (hopefully) keep me somewhat organized.
I’d like to give a shout out to my darling hubby who did more of the work than I care to admit.
Funny how just a can of paint can transform a room. Look around your house – what could you paint to create a new look?

Love the finished look. What about a similar color to the vase(?) on top of the left filing cabinet – maybe a shade or 2 lighter but would look great with the pesto green…
Susan, Love what you and your husband did with the paint. Great color and just the right touch of updating. What a great office. Enjoy!
