Home Office Confessions

by Susan Jensen Smith on September 22, 2008

It’s been such a busy summer, and now that we’ve officially segued into fall schedules, it’s time to tackle my home office. Not just the illusion of picked up (which works most of the time), but really go at it.

As I look around, I see a basket of summer clothes to give away, a fax machine sitting on the floor, “miscellaneous” bins from my 2nd graders room with papers I’m “supposed” to save. And don’t even get me started on the filing cabinet! There’s a tower of “to file” pile on top that may tip over at any moment.

Another motivation is we’re getting new carpeting. I have to move it all out anyway, why not purge and clean as well!

I’ve successfully put off this inevitable task by telling myself that it’s more important to be working on my businesses than to be tidying my office. While that is true, I’m quite sure I’ll work more effectively if I can find things!

Ok, ok! Enough blogging about it. Time to actually do it (and yes, I’ll take before and after pics!)

Here’s my inspirational quote for the day:

“One day, the intention became a resolve, and I arose from my chair to make a new beginning.” – George MacDonald.
